About Diana Tumasz

Diana Tumasz, LCSW is a compassionate and experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Schaumburg, IL, providing individual therapy for adults, child and adolescent counseling, trauma therapy, and telehealth services throughout Illinois. She specializes in helping clients navigate anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, parenting concerns, and self-esteem struggles with practical support and lasting strategies for change.

A graduate of Dominican University, where she earned her Master’s in Social Work, Diana brings a unique depth of experience to her clinical work. Before becoming a therapist, she spent 15 years as a public school teacher, supporting students in both general and special education. That foundation gave her deep insight into child development, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, family systems, and adolescent mental health, which continues to inform her work with clients across the lifespan.

Diana began her clinical career at Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health Hospital, working with children, teens, adults, and older adults in acute mental health settings. There, she developed expertise in crisis intervention, trauma-informed care, de-escalation, emotional support, and family stabilization during high-stress situations.

Today, Diana helps adults, children, teens, and families build resilience, improve coping skills, and move through difficult seasons with greater clarity and confidence. Her approach is warm, structured, collaborative, and goal-oriented—combining compassion with practical tools that help clients create meaningful, lasting change.

Diana has a special passion for trauma therapy for children and adolescents, particularly those impacted by bullying, grief, family disruption, or emotional distress. Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, she helps young clients develop emotional regulation, confidence, resilience, and healthy ways to thrive—not just survive.

Beyond the therapy room, Diana collaborates with schools and community organizations to promote mental health awareness, bullying prevention, and emotional wellness, believing that education and prevention are essential to long-term healing for individuals, families, and communities.

When she’s not seeing clients, Diana enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching movies, and spreading positivity wherever she goes.
